Sorry for the innocuous question but. Oh well.

I heard male cats and dogs pee everywhere/mark their territory so it stinks in places and you constantly have to clean up after them. How true is it? Want a male cat but dot want a cat that pees everywhere.

Anyone had male pets can comment?

I have a male dog, he's potty trained so if it's raining and I can't take him out he'll only go on his potty pad in the corner. It helps to give him a treat everytime he does this.

ive had four boy cats over the years, they only pee if they arent neutered OR if they have a uti. unneutered males will pee on things as a dominance/territory marking thing, in the case of a uti, crystals will build up in their urethra which will make going to the bathroom painful, they associate that pain with their litterbox or designated bathroom area and will start going elsewhere.

that said there is not really that much of a difference between male and female cats. my boys are all very cuddly but so are my two girls
