I can sympathize your struggles as a trans woman not being able to have kids either. But this is fresh and raw news for TC and his girlfriend. There's a time and a place and this ain't it. It especially isn't a time to use personal experiences to belittle TC and his partner over it.

As a totally infertile woman, let me tell you... The difference in how a cis woman is treated when this stuff happens versus how I'm treated is disgusting.

My advice is to just be there for her and figure out if you're mature enough to keep going with her. Unless you were actively trying for kids it isn't like it was on the table right now, so you would still have had time regardless to figure out your direction with her.

At the very least, if you do end up finding it too much for you to handle? Don't put any blame on her. Put it all on yourself for insecurities. Otherwise? It'll destroy her.

It really hit us both like bricks. We knew she had the cyst but they kinda made it seem like no big deal. They said its most likely PCOS which would make it harder to conceive but not impossible. Today she got the news that when they go to remove the cyst because of how large they found out it was. If they see its cancerous they are just going to take all of it out.

Its been a very emotionally charged day. I'm kinda lost on where to go from here. I know options but every thing is so pricey and we arent rich.

I'm not sure what you mean by "too long," but if it was a newer relationship, I'd probably break up with her because if I want to have kids with a partner, I want the child to be a combination of both of our genes because it's specifically a factor in choosing a partner in the first place.

It's different if you've been with somebody a long time because there's a greater level of commitment at that point, but this is like anything that might split up an early relationship.

And while adopting sounds like a workaround, the system is just set up badly in the US and -- because of unfit foster parents -- a lot of nations are screening out American parents (such as when that one couple sent a toddler or something on a flight back to their old country alone or some similarly ridiculous thing that should have got the couple arrested). And then surrogacy is expensive.
