Stretch more, not joking. In the Army we spent a solid 30 minutes stretching every morning before PT.

Dynamic stretching is important, but that's just about moving around a bit before you actually start running. When I ran my "stretching" routine consisted of walking down a hill about ten minutes to where I actually started my route. Doing some side-to-side lateral jumping crap and some squats and stuff like that are going to be more beneficial than just standing there stretching your calf muscles out.
Also it's kind of weird, I had a crazy pain in my leg this morning for no reason.
