Initial attraction is largely visual and everybody knows it. It's a huge part of our culture, not just America but literally everywhere all throughout time. I don't get why we have to be coy about being shallow. Nobody has time to sit there and love everyone's soul or uniqueness or whatever, that comes later. No point in ignoring what your brain is telling your first.

It's like saying "you're hot" gets translated by some people as "the only reason you should exist is because you're hot and nothing else" or some shit. Wrong, that's hella projection. It just means you're hot

the nerve of some of our fellow humans

to objectify somebody means to degrade to the status of a mere object. nobody likes their value being equated to their body/looks without their consent.

it might be fine when you're in the bedroom when you're consenting to being valued for your looks, but otherwise it's dehumanizing and disrespectful
