I heard the Chinese audience didn't like it. I think they prefer the serious take on this story. Nkt sure how famous or popular Dynasty Warriors is in China. I'm hoping they do a sequel anyway for the international fans. I'd like them to slowly cover the entire 3 kingdoms story

the final battle with lu bu vs Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fe was amazing. They jump into each other creating an explosion that destroys the bridge causing them to fall like 6 miles below where they can now run on water. Including at one point them making water attacks which made basically a surfers halfpipe which red hare could run up.
