So I'm on Amazon looking to buy my next PS4 game and I come across these retro consoles providing over 10,000 games. So what's that about?

Somebody selling an emulation rig in a retro shell. They're almost all universally garbage.

It's typically 100 badly emulated old games and freeware duplicated 100 times. Just get something you can load data onto if you want easy TV access for your games.

Cheap parts, cheap shell, cheap feeling controllers, and a whole bunch of shovelware. They're garbage.

I bought one years ago, back when they were being sold in stores and malls, before Nintendo started suing the shit out of these people.

Mine was red, shaped like an N64 controller, and came with a light gun. After a month it was more electrical tape than wires. It may have 10,000 games but 9,950 of them are going to be clones mixed into a menu from hell.

I'd recommend getting a Raspberry Pi.

My friend gave me his a few weeks ago because he never uses it. It's pretty dope.

The thing about the Pi is that its more expensive and its a lot more time consuming to set up. And then youll use it for a week and never touch it again. At least you dont feel bad about junking a knock off console in a week.

I recommend just putting these game on your PC. That way theyre there if you have an itch and you didnt waste any money on a fire hazard or dust catcher.

You do this if all you're doing is creating an emulation machine to play the games. I bought the official licensed mini consoles because I'm more about the look and quality of the system as opposed to the games. A 25 game emulation station for $100 was a fine investment. I'm also a sucker for tat like that. I kind of want to buy one of the Legend of Zelda Game and Watch systems.

I have the SNES Mini but the game selection is pretty weak. I wish it had more RPGs.

Pi is a lot cheaper than those all in one systems with well over 10,000 games on it. Not to mention there are sites where you can just dl the memory card image and put it on your memory card.

I don't have a computer. Just an Acer Chromebook which is basically a tablet with a keyboard.

Got my program on pause. Checking on YT real quick. So there's a market. I recall how the PS1 classic was a disappointment and somehow, someone found out how to add more games into it illegally. From what I'm looking at, it looks better than the vanilla version. They didn't even add Twisted Metal 2?
