I was just thinking about how the Hawks might make the finals as a 5 seed, and it led to me also thinking Wow, is this gonna be the first time since 1999 that a lower seed makes the finals?
So I started going through history, starting with 1999 and working my way forward to see if Id forgotten about any teams. Aaaaaand I forgot that Miami was a 5 seed last year.
