He certainly cheated, and he certainly did lots of shitty things during that period, and he certainly lied a lot.

The issue was whether he intentionally cheated or accidentally left on mods he used for his other content production (Which forms the bulk of his content, to note). It's likely he unintentionally cheated, which is just gross negligence.

If you put up a cheated speedrun and have it pointed out that it's cheated -- knowing that you use mods that up item rates for your entertainment streams so you know that's how it happened even if you forgot or it was unintentional -- and then you start lying about and harrassing the people calling you out, that's malicious.

The core issue isn't whether Dream planned to cheat a run and submit, it's how he reacted to the moderators doing their job. He's a shameless liar with an army of obsessed internet stans. It's a ticking time bomb for another situation like this. Even when he did fess up, he did so in a long and rambling self-pitying blogpost meant to endear him to his fans rather than an actual concise and sincere acknowledgement of his wrongdoing to the moderators.
