Hell no. You're going to need at least $3K per month. $4K per month would be better.

Fuck likes and karma but gfaqs needs a "this guy again?" Button and if a person gets too many of those they get banned from making topics for a month.

well, he said food clothes vacation. He didnt include rent or other things. Perhaps those are taken care of with the rest of his income or other.

Even if you added rent to that amount, it's still pretty low for how he's trying to play it off as.

dunno why you are asking this. It depends on how much you make net pay, how much you are laying for rent, and how much you have left over.

wtf is with the confusion in this topic?

i make a good amount of money

i have a lot of deductions (taxes, medical, pension etc)

i then contribute a good amount to my 401k

i then pay 3.5k for mortgage monthly

i then have to pay for utilities and entertainment

i then have 2.5k leftover-so this is for food, clothing and vacations

my question is: is 2.5k monthly enough for all of those things?

i can lower my 401k contributions if needed

Look man, I don't know what to tell you. If you ONLY have $2500 a month to play with, that means you're only playing with 30k a year. That's not even enough to get you a membership at the Country Club.

Lol. Low quality trolling. This is why you shouldnt make too many topics when doing so.

So do you have a 3.5k mortgage or do you rent a place for 800?

So you made a topic about how your parents are going to flip out when you buy a place, and then 5 minutes later, you bought the condo? As someone who has gone through the numerous paperwork and steps to buy a home such as hiring an appraiser, home inspector and pest inspector, I don't buy it.

just pointing out how wrong you are

you're upset i didn't include HOA (and property tax/insurance) and i point out that's included in the mortgage and you get upset?

you try to point out i "only" live in a place that costs $800, but your own screen grab shows the market value is $1,500?

yeah, nice try

what other crappy "gotcha!" are you gonna try next?

buying in 1 lump sum is actually a bad idea, the tax breaks i get on my salary are insane with a mortgage

but no, i have no problem admitting that i cant afford to pay for a 700k condo in 1 lump sum at the age of 34

All this is, is you attempting to throw your wallet around like its fat. Its not. Especially for where you live. If you need CE to help you with budgeting then you arent making near what you are saying. Anyone in that range would most likely have a financial planner to do all of this for them.

where am i "throwing my wallet around"? i didn't even mention any other salary total or anything else until it was clear the topic was confusing people. just a single budget question

what i do makes perfect since

cooking takes work, it's optimal for me to just order out

it's sub optimal to forfeit $6 for no reason

i have money to spend, i don't have money to waste

eating out is spending money...not using a coupon i have is wasting money

get it?
