Nope. No embryos existing today close to housing a Dino. The frog thing is not possible. At least for big dinos

supposedly dna decays way too quickly to ever survive 70M years
the atmosphere, temperature and vegetation are all quite different. there's a decent chance they'd all freeze, starve and or suffocate pretty much immediately.

Boom! That's right, this is all happening! You cannot change the channel now!

I mean hopefully the scientists would keep them in a controlled environment lol

1. Don't clone any carnivores

2. Don't half ass your Security systems

Not really. The premise of his hypothetical is "we achieved a real life Jurassic Park. What happens next?"

You got caught up on arguing if we could achieve Jurassic Park. But the hypothetical already moved past that point

I think it'd be fine. We already keep wild animals in zoos and even circuses and shit. Giant dinosaurs would be a bigger ask, but I don't think they'd have that much trouble.

Wouldn't catch me going tho

It was literally 100% the security systems. We keep carnivores in captivity all the time without much issue. And frankly, most of the protections that were in place in the movies would have been sufficient if not for the sabotage/power outage.

But in reality, there would have been far more redundancy. There is literally no way we would build the pens for the more dangerous dinos with just a single wall/fence separating them from the outside. There would be multiple layers of walls with deep pits in between at the absolute minimum. And in real life everything would have passive means of defense and containment that would function even the case of a complete power loss to the island and facilities.

I'm pretty sure we also wouldn't just have a giant island completely filled with random dinos, we'd have them segregated by species like zoos do.

Well they were all separated. They weren't just all roaming free around the island until the power went out and they started breaking through the fences.

Unless you mean like an entirely separate island for each species? Because that's just excessive and not necessary in the slightest.

Oh, I genuinely never knew this. I've never watched the movie in full, so I thought the park was genuinely just its own ecosystem and you drove through it in the jeep.

This is exactly the thinking that lead to shit getting fucked up in the movies. That's the point. You can be so sure you're right and covered every possible error or contingency but you 100 percent didn't.

No it's not. WTF? Did you even watch them?

The thinking that lead to shit getting fucked up in the movies was that Hammond constantly claimed to have "spared no expense" but in reality had cut just about every fucking corner he could. All he cared about was the facade. He hires a second-rate programmer to design the entire park's systems because he gave the cheapest bid. And because Hammond paid him so little, he was easily bribed to steal the park's secrets for a rival company.

The whole thing fell apart because Hammond just wanted the fame, but wasn't willing to put in more than the bare minimum to get it.
