Because it generally won't be an interesting plot point for the average viewer. Doing it for the sake of doing it just seems cheap, so you need to actually be able to commit to the long haul like Todd.

I thought todd was really interesting. For a straight person like me, asexuality is something a lot more foreign than homosexuality. Like the feeling is probably the same for gay people except its directed towards people of the same sex.

Todd's story really brings me new perspective towards asexuality and taught me a little bit of their perspective. The same with Parvati, but todd is more fleshed out.
