Theyre the main but with a dark palette and theyre a silent asshole for no reason. Theyre origin is extremely shallow or non existent.

Nega Scotts probably the funniest jab at this cliche.

MC but evil is dumb, and I say this as a sucker for edgy stuff like spikes/black & red color palette/etc. A different character with a similar power/moveset is more interesting, so something kinda like Spider-man and Venom is what I prefer.

Shadow the Hedgehog was a great character. He just shouldve stayed dead.

Dark Samus and SA-X are kinda contrived, but at least make narrative sense.

Bass/Treble are probably the most shallow recurring example of this I can think of, but they look cool. >_>

The cool thing about base imo is Wily just saying fuck it ill make mega man but better and this leads to making Zero as well.
