To me that question is a "how long is a piece of string" type question.

I think there are different types of troll, and they dont all follow exactly the same type of behaviour.

Trolls who just go onto an internet forum or message board, just to get a rise out of the community there, i think can be pretty funny to be honest. In the 00s, there was an internet forum called www.chavscum.co.uk and it was about discussions on the chav community of the UK. That place attracted alot of trolls, and alot of them were pretty funny. Like there was one troll who posted in the metal/goth/emo board, and he told them they needed hair shavers and needed to conform, cause its the only way to be. And the rise he got out of butt hurt emo's who took what he said to heart was really funny.

The trolls i dont like are the outright callis nasty ones, those trolling to be sociopathic callis scumbags, i dont think anybody out there likes them kind. I also dont like the kind of trolls who go onto a chatroom or message board and at first act all normal and reasonable headed, only to earn decent peoples trust, just to then troll them once they have got it, that to me is just calculative and sociopathic.

I agree with something that a guy called Textingnames/agentimax on youtube once said "look, if all you wanna do is just go onto the internet just to be a d**k, then just come onto the internet and be a d**k, cause there's plenty of people on there that will be happy to be a d**k with you. But dont come on here and earn decent peoples trust, then act a d**k to them, then when you get called out on it, try and rationalise how your not being a d**k, cause all that does is just makes you a major a**hole"

Yeah i completely agree with that. And there is a troll here on gamefaqs who is like that. I wont mention his name tho as that might get me into trouble with the mods. But you might even know who he is anyway.

I also dont get trolls who troll by blocking and ignoring people on forums or chatrooms. I always thought that the joy for a troll is to troll people, get a reaction, and get enjoyment out of seeing the reaction. Well you cant do that if you block the people your trying to troll. What do they do there?, just act upon blind faith?. And just hope that the person gave a rise?.

In all honesty, Im a troll at heart. I like being ridiculous and getting a rise out of people sometimes. These days I cant be bothered, though. Too much effort for a little bit of amusement.

I dunno, man. I've done it to upset boomers and so forth.
I guess I'm worried that behaviour occurs because you're kinda bitter deep down and want to inflict yourself on others to bring them down, so I won't partake anymore.

I mostly feel pity. Like, even the ones who pretend to be idiots still must have some kind of mental issue* and its honestly more sad than anything.

*I truly dont mean that as an insult either

Yea this. I don't really post much here, but I do it in games I play.

Currently I just play stupid off-meta stuff on smurf accounts. Act like an idiot and my team starts flaming me, only to get carried. Idk why I find it so funny

It can be funny when you're a dumb teen, but grown adults still doing it is just sad.
