It's just a matter of eating <1500 calories for X amount of time. Took me years. Overall I'm in the 140-150 lost range

That brought me to a subreddit called egg_irl that's about trans people coming to terms with themselves and I was like...oh shit I relate to pretty much every post. But I still feel like a guy. Friends and even my doc pointed out that that in itself is a valid feeling, so I decided to go on hormones and get the womanly body I realized I wanted

I actually know two non-binary people, if that helps. Ill relate what I know Im not out to either, nor have I discussed the matter specifically with them.

One of my best friends is AMAB* non-binary. They initially thought they were a trans woman, but they realized they still feel like a boy sometimes. Theyve gotten hormone therapy and are getting bottom surgery.
The other is a coworker, AFAB^ They have not gone on hormones and I dont know they ever intend to, but have griped to me about how people treat me like a women *flexes legit impressive biceps* which Im not. Im happy they feel comfortable saying that to me.
Unrelatedly, theyre a stimulant fiend: they vape and suck down energy drinks and matcha lattes, so they remind me of a squirrel sometimes.

The internet really lets you feel the dopamine hits and the attention recession. When I notice it, I set a date just to destim, go close my eyes in the forest, no videos shorter than 20 minutes if at all. That brings me back to functional.

I haven't read since high school pretty much, but when I was on holiday last month I picked up my first ever graphic novel. If you like online comics that tackle heavy themes or that are just really artsy/sapphic (The Corner Witch comes to mind), graphic novels might be a good way to get back into reading.

The one I bought was called Speak, which tackles sexual abuse - whether that's a topic you can handle or not is up to you, but it was a really grounded and relatable story about ostracization and coping with trauma. There are also LGBTQIA+ themes in some stories, I'm looking for graphic novels about trans people at the moment.

After that, I got this book called I Hope We Choose Love: A Trans Girl's Notes From the End of the World. It's a book of essays and poems, and it reads like an internet post set to paper which I feel pretty mixed on. I've only read the first chapter and it's hard to pick it back up, just because I'm used to burning out my pleasure synapses on back to back Tetris marathons and shit lol

Like, my thing is finding subversive literature that speaks to my sensibilities. Speak reminded me of those internet comics that tackled heavy subjects, and the title of I Hope We Choose Love speaks to the side of me that's a romantic idealist. There's so much information we're not gonna get from blasting our brains with viddy games and movies and stuff - and there's enrichment from those mediums that we can only get from those mediums, sure, but there's also so much material that might speak to us innately that's confined to the written word. I've been trying to get back into reading because of that.
