What stood out the most to me was the mention that the courses felt really bland and generic instead of something taking place in the Mushroom kingdom. But they do have some free dlc coming, and one of the new stages looks like it will be New Donk City from Odyssey. So I'm going to wait and see how the dlc shakes out before buying.
