Probably the game I hold dearest as I bought it on release and played it for months and months before finally beating it.

Insult sword-fighting has no equal. The dialogue is superb. The characters are varied and hilarious.

If you need help or hints, don't hesitate to ask.

This is also when I knew Tim Schafer and Ron Gilbert were names I should remember. First game developers I ever learned the names of and to this day, 30 years later, I'm salivating at the prospect of Psychonauts 2.

The only Monkey Island game I've played is the Telltale five-parter (which was awesome), but this remaster doesn't seem to be too difficult so far. Had to look up the controls for verbs and inventory, but that's about it. Mostly just exploring and trying to get a feel of the place. I see you can also go past the lookout to explore the island more fully. It's cool to switch between the remaster and the original version.

They did a good job with the remake by including the classic from 92 as I remember, and the updated HD visuals... and switching between them is immediate.

I actually think there are hints included in the remake if you do get stuck, which is bound to happen, some of the later puzzles are quite obtuse.

Okay, figured out what I was doing wrong. Needed to use the "give" option on the repellant instead of "use". I knew that cake had a file in it.

Gonna try to tackle that maze-like forest. I feel like the "map" I bought off that dude is secretly the solution to getting through. Fumbled my way in blind last time to a dead end (which subsequently took me out of the forest), so I feel that's where I need to go.

What a classic PC game.

I remember beating it as a kid.

Took me 6 months of on/off trial & error to figure it out when I was 10 y/o.

Fantastic game.

The second one is good too, though the ending is abrupt and bizarre.

My favourite is actually the third.

my favorite is actually the Third as well. I know it gets some flack since Ron Gilbert left. but i think its very funny and looks amazing, I wish they could up res it a bit

You also had to switch between 8 3 1/2 inch floppy disks every time you moved from one area to the next.

I didn't, mines were installed on my HDD.

A luxury back then, but it was nice.

But I still had the Face/Skull wheel just to log in.

That thing was something of beauty.

Alright, Elaine was governornapped and now I gotta put a crew together. Carla the Sword Master already pledged herself to the cause, and that jailed dude will too, if I free him. Gonna guess that's what the mug of corrosive grog is for. Gonna go visit that hook-handed dude on Hook Isle now.

I got Escape From Monkey Island at a garage sale for $5. Didn't know anything about the series. Probably one of the best purchases I've made.

I've played some Discworld games already and they're pretty enjoyable, although they can be a little harder than this (especially the non-PC versions). I ___HIGHLY____ recommend Discworld Noir to point-and-click enthusiasts -- way, way more awesome than I thought it'd be going in.

Oh wow, the game is glitched trying to open the shopkeeper's safe, at least in Special Edition mode. Would only pull the handle, not push it. Fixed by going to classic mode, though. Looked it up and I'm inda surprised this hasn't been fixed since 2009.

Alright, I got through that cave and found the ghost ship. I thought maybe the Navigator's head would be the same as that talking skull in the TOMI game, but I guess not.

If you repeatedly get caught by the cannibals, they'll keep improving the level of locked door on the jail.

Wow, that was a quick final chapter. It's fun seeing Guybrush get his ass kicked around the island, although seeing Stan uppercutted was the best. I wonder what would've happened if I hadn't sank my own ship with the rock catapult...

Now that I've beaten the game, I was looking up easter eggs I missed and one of 'em is a Sam & Max icon at the Monkey Head. Looks like it was changed to a Day of the Tentacle one for the remaster. Not sure if they kept it in the older version.
