This has to be some of the worst and most unnatural writing I've ever seen in my life. Also it doesn't make as Joel didn't think about any of this, all he thought when the Fireflies incident went down was that he was not going to let the Fireflies kill Ellie for a vaccine. Nothing more, nothing less.

Id have a human girl super bite through 2 human fingers and after a fight the other didnt want and after the impossible bite is have her just say fuck it and for some reason missing these 2 fingers would stop her from playing guitar.

An impossible bite made her not do something totally possible without those fingers.

But id make the rest of the game complete shit so no one would really give a fuck about this.

Biting through fingers certainly isn't impossible.

Even if it were, bodyparts being bitten off in fights casually is a very common trope in media.

May as well complain every time a character in a movie/TV series is knocked unconscious for more than several seconds and appears fine after.

I think Joel & Ellies story shouldve ended after the first game but I wouldnt have minded a Joel and Tommy prequel where Joel is just an absolute monster.

it's not that she couldn't have learned to find alternate ways of playing, it was that she was symbolically laying Joel to rest, since music was a big part of their bond, and was going her own way.

I feel like, as pieces of zombie media, TLoU games have had a bunch of impossible elements.

and I don't just mean the infected, but also the injuries Joel and Ellie received and survived from in the way they did.

I'm not gonna say you have to continue to suspend your disbelief, but I personally think it's a weird area to continue to focus on.

They could have simply left it out to be way more realistic but it also weird to be hell bent on revenge to back down after having your fingers impossibly chomped off while still winning.

-Person doesnt want to fight
-Threaten person you saved for revenge to fight
-Fight

-Winning yet now you decide to back down

I can't speak fully for her motivations, but after seeing Abby, who was previously this imposing figure who wrecked her and the people she cared about, on top of killing Joel, be reduced to a husk of her former self, she already had doubts about killing her.

her hate/sense of revenge came back, and that's what made her coerce Abby into their final fight, but after Ellie was drowning Abby, I think she no longer felt helpless, and she also didn't want to potentially put Lev in a similar situation, and that helped diffuse the situation.

it's been a while since I've played the first game, but iirc, he gets impaled sometime in the fall and his fate is unknown while Ellie takes over during the winter.

and it turns out she's been nursing him back to health, so it could have been a few weeks or months.

no one said her feelings were everywhere, though - when something bad happens to you, you don't always just feel one thing, but a number of other negative things, too.

and in the ending, she still had conflicted feelings, but she no longer had the desire to kill Abby.

I know it's a bit more complicated than "calming down after your fingers are bitten off" but it happens.
