i just got to the castle and only have like 7 pistol bullets which probably isn't enough to kill 2 enemies and it's stressing me out. how do i proceed without dying. knife seems to be the way but will probably cost me some herbs to use. please advise

Look around for some ammo or stuff to craft some? I highly doubt you only have access to 7 bullets at any one given moment in the game, unless you haven't been picking anything up and randomly shoot at nothing.

Are you playing on Village of Shadows maybe?

run past everything til you find ammo

no way you can kill two enemies with 7 bullets on VoS

i've been relatively thorough at picking up ammo and stuff. my aim has been not great so far and i think i used up too much by going back out into that field after you first meet the girl and her dad since couldn't figure out where to go, iirc it was unnecessary to kill the lycans that spawned out there

to follow up, i just played the game and it gave me a bunch of ammo before getting to the first wave of enemies at the part with all the cells

You can use the knife doing that and save some ammo
