One guy says he was staying at a hotel over the weekend. Early in the morning, someone will call your room's hotel phone and pretend to be the front desk. They'll claim the hotel had an issue with the internet overnight and all credit card info was lost, so they say "to save you a trip downstairs just give us your info and we can re-run it" and if you refuse they'll threaten to kick you out.

The goal is to catch you super early in the morning when you're likely to be tired and confused and too lazy to put on clothes and run downstairs.

Pretty nuts. Always be wary of shit like this, I could see it working on some old people and some not-so-smart people.
