Barkley, 58, said Turner has told him to stop with his long-running joke where he makes fun of the women of San Antonio.
If you crack a joke the wrong way, theyre like, Oh, no, no, no, you crossed the line, Barkley said. I mean, they wont even let me talk about San Antonio anymore when Im always talking about their big ole women down in San Antonio. Theyre like, Charles, we got one lady (who) wrote an article. Im like, First of all, I didnt call anybody personally fat in San Antonio; I was just joking around.

Weve been having fun with this for probably 1015 years. We go to San Antonio; the people are having a blast with it. The people in San Antonio had T-shirts made up. Barkley clearly is frustrated.

You cant even have fun nowadays without these characters trying to get you canceled and things like that, he said.

they are free to say whatever they want. and people are free to have opinions about what was said. when he says "the women of San Antonio are fat cows" he should expect a reaction. he's basically doing what a child does when an adult says "don't say that because it's mean". freedom to speak does not mean freedom from consequences of your actions. i dont know why so many people struggle with this.

everything else... "will rodgers report to camp???" "will julio push the titans to a super bowl appearance??" (lmfao not while the chiefs exist) etc.

and i get it's the offseason so NFL news is pretty sparse, but it's like this during the season as well. just nothing but surface level takes and boring-ass arguments

It's a huge straw man to say that all speech is without consequences. We aren't throwing Barkley in jail or suggesting anything like that.

No one is censoring anything. They're merely criticizing him for the things he says. Exercising their rights. He has the right and the ability to ignore them or change, depending on what he wants to do.

These people have no power over him. We wouldn't have even known that they said anything unless he whined about it and tried to play the victim. He's been making the same joke for literally over a decade and this is the first time we're hearing anything about cancelation. No one is forcing him to quit or to do anything he doesn't want to do.
