A) Yeah

"Hey." You say casually. "So. There's an intruder. You should all evacuate."

Everyone stares at you in confusion.

You scratch your beard. Theres a killer on the loose.

The crowd of people look at each other. They then erupt into panic and stampede out the door.

The only people left are the sapphire lady and the person lying in the pool of water.

She chants a spell with blazing-fast speed. Runes carved along the walls and the floor start to glow one after the other. The runes reach a peculiar altar behind her, which houses a large heart with the texture of solid ice. It glows even brighter, which also causes the runes to intensify.

The water glows a very bright blue.

Once the spell dissipates, the person emerges from the water. My...my leg! You truly are a Saint! How could I ever repay you--

She pats him on the back. Get dressed and leave at once. Your gratitude is enough, my child.

He nods and jumps out of the pool, scuttling away while putting on his pants.

She stands up to her full, domineering height which almost matches you and Smore. Lets drop this game of pretend, shall we? I know full well youre no guards of mine.

You shrug and flex your muscles, which fully rips apart your shitty disguise. Good, I was getting tired of that shit.

Smore tries to flex, but is only able to tear the disguise a bit. She then just pulls it off.

The sapphire lady crosses her arms. You stand before the Grand Wizard of Water, Queen Watermoses. But really, you should be standing in trial...Merlin. Ive heard all about you from the other kingdoms.

You grin. Oh good, then I guess you know not to fuck with me, yeah? Hand over the heart behind you.

She sighs. Ill be honest with you Merlin, Im no fighter. And even if I was, I know full well that fighting you would be foolish. She turns around to face the altar. But you must understand, this Great Heart has been in this family for generations. Its what powers and cleans the waterways of our city, its what helps me grant miracles to my people!

You cross your arms. Thats great and all, but do you even know what that thing really is? Do you know where it came from?

I care not for what it was, or what it is. What I care about is this city, and this Heart is the key to granting my people happiness. She stares down at her reflection in the pool of water. Listen Merlin, my citizens are simply trying to live honest lives. Lives which sometimes get impeded by injuries or disasters. Lives that need clean water. That goes for my peoples children. And their children after that.

She walks up to the altar and embraces the heart. I dont know if my words matter to you. Perhaps you are in dire need of this Heart. But I love this kingdom with my entire being, Merlin. And until the very end, my duty is to protect my people. And that means protecting this.

Dragon wings burst out of the back of her robe. She covers the entire altar with them. Do what you must. But know this, if you take the Heart, you will have ruined the lives of many innocent people.

A) Cast Fist.

You clench your fist.

Do it, who gives a fuck about the people, says the voice in your head.

You shake your head. Youre better than that.

Alright, calm yourself, you say, mostly to yourself but also to the Queen. I need the Heart to help with a curse of mine. If you really do make miracles, then heal me.

The Queen retracts her wings and looks back at your humbled face. She lets go of her embrace to the Heart and approaches you. I normally dont reach my hand out for a monster like you. Step in the water.

You take off your boots and set foot in the pool of water, much too small for your large frame. Dont you know? Its monsters that need the most saving.

Smore tries to follow you into the water, but you raise your hand to signal her to stop.

The Queen kneels and puts her hands together, then starts chanting a spell. The ritual begins again, with the runes all around the room glowing. The Heart glows too, sending power to the pool of water. Zenith-class: Wyvern Tears--

The blue glows of the water immediately turn crimson-red.

She coughs up blood, interrupting the spell. Wh...what? What was that?! She looks at you with fear. Merlin...this curse is unbelievably vile. Who did this to you?!

You cross your arms. Let's just say...consequences of my own actions. Can you really handle this? I've yet to see any magic that cures a curse."

She stands up and wipes the blood off of her lips. "My predecessors have researched curses for centuries. Only recently has their torch been passed to me.

She raises her hand. Water vapors in the air clump together, then solidify into a staff of ice. Before that, I was powerless. I could not save a mere child from a simple curse. And here you stand, reminding me of that powerlessness.

Her wings spread out far and wide as she slams her staff to the ground, forming a large magic circle. You say that monsters need the most saving? Youre completely right, Merlin. But saving a monster requires monstrous power. She chants a spell, faster than she ever has. The circle fills up almost completely. And only now, do I get to find out if I have it.

You give a skeptical but optimistic grin. Interesting. Personally, I know someone whos been doing that shit for way longer. But sure, show me what you got.

The circle completes. The entire room glows blindingly bright, like youve stepped into the gates of heaven. The Heart starts to shake violently as it pumps an immense amount of energy into the Queens staff.

May the Ether bless your soul, Merlin. She points the staff at you. Named-spell: Watermoses Wyvern Tears!

A beam of light shoots out, striking you and engulfing your entire body in it. Immediately, you feel pain all around you, like youre being constantly struck by lightning. You shrivel up and scream.

She grits her teeth. I swear Merlin, this is not an offensive spell. Your curse is just far too vile!

The glowing white beam slowly starts to get dyed crimson-red.

The pain you feel surges back to the Queen, forcing her to kneel. However, she keeps the spell going despite the immense torture. Its not working...perhaps Im...simply powerless--

Smore walks up to the Queen and stands next to her. Sir Merlin. I was unsure whether I should take action here. But earlier, you said heal me. Ill take that as a command. She spreads out her wings and arms, gathering mana to her.

The Queen looks at her with bewilderment. Another half-dragon?

Miss Watermoses. I hope you do not mind, but Ive already memorized this spell of yours. Within seconds, she reconstructs the incredibly complex magic circle on the palm of her hands. Your spell is interesting. You aim to dispel a curse using brute force?

She points her hands at you and shoots out a more focused beam of light unto where your heart is.

The pain skyrockets, leaving you writhing out of the pool. This pain also reflects back to both Smore and the Queen.

As you keep your eyes closed, fragments of memories resurface.



You were in a completely void of darkness.

A thousand voices whispered to you in unison. You wishhhh to defy the inevitability of time? they said, with the intonation of a snake. All cursessss are paid in blood, mortal. It will be impossible for you to find equivalent exchange for an agelessssss vessel right now.

You were unable to speak. You felt an ice-cold hand caress your cheek.

However, we are flexible. Your everlasting life will come with an everlassssting debt. You are not allowed to...nullify either of these things yourself.

Another ice-cold hand caressed you, touching both of your cheeks. And you WILL pay it regularly. Well make ssssssure of that.



The white light becomes completely dyed crimson-red. The spell goes haywire.

The castle explodes. The beams they shot out bounce away from you and back towards the casters.

Smore tackles the Queen out of the way.

The red beam drills straight through the Heart and through the wall

...And further and further, right into the mountains.

The ground shakes violently, toppling over the remains of the altar and spilling the pool.

The three of you steady yourselves while panting heavily.

You raise your arm to keep your hat on, but realize something. You wave your arm around. I dont know what the hell happened, but at least you healed my arm. Ill give ya points for that.

The Queen coughs up more blood from straining herself too much. She drops to all fours, with one hand covering her mouth.

Smore ignores her and gets up. Sir Merlin. I sense a colossal disturbance back at the mountain.

You walk up to the giant hole in the wall and look at this disturbance.

What you see is very cloudy. Concerningly so.

You scratch your beard. Smore, thats an avalanche, isnt it?

She nods. The mountain was weakened by your forceful use of Chi. That spell was, as mother would put it, the last nail in the coffin. Mother did also say its incredibly foolish to build a city at the foot of a mountain.

You also nod. Hm. Shit.

A) This town is lost. Gather your other companions and evacuate the city with their help.

B) Fix it Merlin

The Queen coughs a bit more as she staggers back to her feet, though with less blood coming out. "So this is the end...a catastrophe from my own failure. And once again, I am powerless."

She slowly walks up to the hole, using her staff as a walking stick. "Tell me Merlin, what do you do when you feel like you cannot do anything?"

You cross your arms while keeping your gaze towards the mountain. "Simple. Don't do anything. Let yourself drown in it for a while."

Within your peripheral vision, a figure soars through the sky. "And all you gotta do, is wait for the strength to get up. Whether that's of your own accord, or"

Something thumps against the castle, shaking you all a bit. Then, a familiar face from above peers upside-down into the hole with her long neck.

You grin. "...Or someone reaches out their hand."

"Merlin." Says Smog. "You really fucked up now! What the hell were you thinking?!"

"Honestly? I'm thinking Wizard snowcones."

"Merlin!"

"Alright alright, look. This is a big accident. Any ideas on stopping it? Maybe raise a giant earth wall?"

She shakes her head. "No good. Even with my daughter, we wouldn't be able to raise a large and sturdy-enough wall in time."

"Hmm, blow it away? Or burn it away?"

"You're overestimating the power I have now, Merlin. I told you, I'm getting too old."

You scratch your beard. "Alright. I got one hell of a dumbass plan. Who's in?"

Smog shrugs. "Wouldn't be the first time you hatched one. Let's do it."

Smore nods. "As mother agrees, so shall I."

You look over to Watermoses.

She looks to the floor. "I don't think my head is in the right place to help, Merlin. I mean, I'm starting to see Dragons! They should have been long extinct by now."

Smog blows a small gust of cold wind at her. "Surprise surprise, girl."

She falls over from the wind. Her face is filled with awe.

You chuckle. "So, you in?"

She stays frozen in awe.

You wave at her. No response. "Alright, guess it's just us 3. Now then," you crouch down and grab a small pebble from the rubble, then start drawing a circle. "I need you guys to cast this spell"



The three of you are perched on the roof of the castle.

A giant magic circle was carved on it earlier.

You glare at the fast-approaching avalanche. "Are we ready?"

They both nod.

You hop onto Smog's back. "Well then, lets roll."

They both soar, circling the perimeter of the base of the mountain. While flying, they shoot down giant blue fireballs, hot enough to carve into the base and turn it into magma.

Once they circle enough to meet in the back of the mountain, you jump off, and Smore lands next to you.

Smog flies back to the roof of the castle and slams her tail into the circle, funneling mana into it. "So this is your new spell, huh? Alright, I'll honor it. Named-spell: Merlin the Muscle Golem!"

A massive golem the size of the castle rises before the base of the mountain. It flexes to show off it's likeness of yourself, then grabs hold of the newly formed rock-handles from the magma bombs fired earlier.

Meanwhile on the other side

"Smore, I need you to reinforce the base of this mountain by filling the small gaps in the earth with your mana."

She blinks a few times. "This is faster than raising a large earth wall?"

"Sure. We're talking about a few cracks here and there versus a whole big-ass wall."

"I shall trust your judgement then." She jumps up on a ledge of the mountain, then places her palms on it. They start glowing, and previously unseen cracks start to glow along the surface of the mountain. Inside, the mana travels quickly like water through a pipe system.

You adjust your hat and dig your hands into the mountain. "Alright Smore, is the mountain reinforced? And hows the avalanche looking?

Her breathing starts to get laborious as she continues to funnel mana into the mountain. Just requires a bit more. And the avalanche is getting rather close to the city. She stares at you inquisitively. Sir Merlin...when we were attempting to cure your curse, I felt something inexplicably sinister. Usually, everything I see is blue. But for a moment, your Chi was a very deep, ominous shade of red. I saw it turn red when you punched me before, but this time was nothing like it.

She looks awkwardly to the side. Ill have to be honest with you, Sir Merlin. I dont feel safe around you. Even now, I fear what you house deep within you. She looks back at you with trembling lips. I...I have never really felt this way before. Ive felt fear before, but not like this--

Smore. You interrupt. ...Your mana control is slipping.

She looks away again. Right. I apologize.

You tighten your grip on the mountain. Fuck, I dont know what you want me to say, Smore. Im trying my best, okay? Im fucking trying! Your grip tightens even more out of frustration, to the point of cracking the wall a bit. You step to the side and grab onto a new spot, then funnel Chi around your whole body. This whole trip has been to fix this goddamned curse, and now its all gone to shit. So trying is all I can do.

...The mountain has been reinforced, though I am quite drained now. And I acknowledge your efforts, Sir Merlin. However, I cannot bring myself to trust them.

Get the fuck outta here.

I apologize Sir Merlin, I did not mean to agitate you--

The Chi around your body gets denser and denser. No, I mean, fly the hell outta here if you dont wanna get hurt!

I...Im sorry. She says, before she spreads her wings and flies away.

You sigh. I shoulda stayed locked up in the tower. Im sick of this shit.

Smog sees Smore land next to her. I take it the mountains ready? Just in time too, this avalanche is getting way too close for comfort. Alright, lets do this, Golem!

It nods and really flexes its rock-muscles, putting all of its strength into pulling upwards.

The Chi on your is extremely dense now. Im sick of this curse. Im sick of Titans bullshit. You flex your muscles to its fullest and start pulling with everything you got. And Im really. Sick. Of this fucking. Mountain!

Slowly but surely, the mountain starts to raise a bit.

Smog grins. No way! Hes really doing it!

Smore stares blankly. ...It does not seem to be enough.

Even with you and the Golem putting your back into it, the mountain is barely doing much else.

You slam your head into the wall, making your forehead bleed a little. Move, goddamn you!

The avalanche is ready to hit the city any moment now

Named-spell: Merlin the Muscle Golem! shouts a voice from the roof of the castle, followed by a loud slam of a staff.

Another Golem rises next to the other one, and together, they put all their effort into lifting the mountain up.

Smog and Smore look back to see Watermoses, panting heavily on the magic circle.

She stands up with full dignity; wings fully spread out. Soyou two really are Dragons, yes?

Smore looks at her with curiosity. Casting two Named spells in quick succession, thats an impressive feat.

Smog nods. Yeah, a feat worthy of a Dragons mana!

The Golems take one metaphorical deep breath, and then shunt their arms up in one quick motion, giving enough momentum to tilt it towards you, but also breaking themselves in the process.

Watermoses looks to the side wistfully. Earlier...Merlin was talking so nonchalantly about facing powerlessness. I thought his words were empty, coming from the most fearsome Wizard Ive ever witnessed. But after experiencing his pain while trying to cure his curse, Ive come to realize this.

You also take a deep breath, then tilt the mountain up and up, until youre holding it above you from the tip of the base. Although, since only the base is reinforced, the rest of the mountain is starting to crumble. The avalanche is technically away from the city here, as its held at the new peak, but...

Merlin might just be the most powerless Wizard Ive seen. But that doesnt stop him, does it?

Your legs tremble before the weight of this goliath, even with all your Chi supporting you. You scream with the top of your lungs. I. CAST. SUPLEX!!!

With one forceful heft, you fall over and slam the mountain behind your back, creating a giant crater and another small earthquake.

In the wake of the crater, all the snow melted from the energy of the impact, which essentially turns this mountain into a lake.

Congratulations. You are the first Wizard to suplex a fucking mountain.



You all reconvene on the roof of the castle, exhausted and laying down to stare at the cloudy sky. A few droplets of water start to hit your face, and then it turns into full-on rain, likely from the water of the mountain splashing up.

Merlin, Im sorry I could not cure you, says the Queen. And now weve lost the Great Heart of Wizard Atlanta.

Smog raises an eyebrow. Thats what you guys are calling it? Its just my late dads heart, yknow.

The Queens eyes pop out metaphorically. It...it came from a dragon?! She sits upright. ...Im realizing just how little I know of the dragon side of my heritage. Still, I am unsure how I can help my people without that heart.

Smog gets up while coughing. I think I have a solution that will kill two birds with one fireball. She looks at you with a serious face. Merlin. Rip my heart out.

Both you and Smore immediately get up. The hell are you saying?! you yell.

She looks back up to the rainy sky. I think Ive lived long enough. Who knows when my time will come. I think itd be better if I end it on my own terms. I dont mind dying to help you humans.

Smore grits her teeth. Mother, please dont say such reckless things!

Silence, daughter.

Smore freezes up, desperately wanting to say more, but has no more to say.

Smog walks up to you. Merlin. I know the nature of your curse. You were turned into a killing machine in order to pay your immortal debt. So go ahead, old friend. Make a payment. The blood of a dragon should definitely be worth a lot.

Ill figure something out. Besides, this whole incident ultimately is my fault. I came here, almost forcefully, and these are the consequences. You look over to the Queen. And ultimately, all I can give is an apology, Miss Watermoses. I cant give any more than that, especially not the life of another.

The Queen looks to Smog, then to you as she gets up. Well, I cant say I condone all your actions. Im not really sure how to feel about this whole situation, really.

She walks towards the edge of the roof, looking over the entire city, where the people have calmed down from panicking previously. In the end, my people are safe for now. And thats all that matters to me. So I dont hold anything against you, Merlin.

She walks over to Smog. I appreciate your offer, o great Dragon. But--

Smog chuckles. Oh please, drop the formalities, kid. Just call me Smog. Besides, youre as much of a Dragon as I am.

The Queen spreads out her wings. Yes, this incident has taught me Im less powerless than I thought. Ill keep honing my abilities, and maybe in the future Ill do just fine with my own Dragon heart.

Smog grins. I like the spirit in your eyes, girl. Tell you what, Ill be hanging out under that new lake. Visit me anytime you need guidance on your Dragon side.

Watermoses face lights up. I...Id be honored!

You give a satisfied nod. Well, this was great and all, but I should go now. Doesnt seem like you guys would be able to help me any further.

You take a step, then stop. Oh wait, two questions. Smog, hows the chair? And Miss Watermoses, I dont suppose you know the whereabouts of King Goldius?

Smog claps her hands together. Ah! Yes, the chair. Unfortunately, couldnt fix him, but at least I slowed down the curse. Maybe curing him would be good homework for this girl! She looks back to the lake. ...Oh shit. OH SHIT. She jets up to the sky and towards the lake.

Smore tries to run after her, but stops at the edge of the roof. Mother! No need to make haste, I can see the presence of mana in the lake!

The Queen tilts her head. King Goldius? I thought you murdered him.

You frown. What?!

Yeah, thats why I was so wary of you. Wizardcity declared that you are wanted for the assassination of Grand Wizard Goldius.

You clench your fist. Oh, now this is bullshit. Believe me, I didnt kill him. He was with me back at Rockenrolland. Then he went missing.

But you cant prove that, can you?

You look away.

She puts a finger on her chin. Well, I dont think youre lying. If thats the case, there could be a sinister scheme afoot here.

Titan, that motherfucker. Insulting my beard wasnt enough?! you mumble to yourself.

She walks up to you and hands you a ring. Head to Airyzona and show this to the Grand Wizard of Wind. Hell know its from me.

You pluck it out of her hand. Uh, alright, but whats he gonna do?

His kingdom rules the skies. Hed be a big help in searching for King Goldius, if you can convince him hes alive.

Smog flies back in with the chair in hand. Alright girl, I got a special assignment for... she looks at you two in surprise. Oh my, Merlin! You sly dog, I didnt know you were set to get married already!

The Queen backs away from you while blushing. That's not--

You roll your eyes. Oh shut it, Smog. This rings too small for me. Anyway, Im off to find two bitch boys, one of which is ruining my day. This is a farewell from me, old friend.

Smog smiles. Hey now, arent you forgetting someone? She glances at Smore. I didnt say you were done with my favor.

Oh hell no, Im not forcing her along here. She has to be the one to make her own decisions.

Smore looks at you, then back to Smog. My own...decisions? Uh...Mother, tell me what decision I should make here.

She chuckles. If I did, that wouldnt be much of your own choice! Cmon daughter, what do you wanna do?

Smore looks at the lake wistfully. I...Ill go with you, sir Merlin. I have much to learn. And then I can return to Mother as a much better person.

You sigh. In the end, its still for her and not yourself, huh? Ah fuck it, at least you actually made a decision yourself. Lets get going then.

She spreads her wings out. Farewell, Mother. And nice meeting you, Miss Watermoses. She bows, then grabs you by the back of your robe and launches to the skies.

The other two wave you off.

Hold on, you say, Before we really get going, stop by the inn first.

She nods and descends to the city.



You are all flying in the air. Smore flaps her wings as hard as she can while she holds that cart you were pulling not too long ago. She funnels Chi into her arms in order to support the weight of everyone in the cart while keeping herself stable in the air.

Gundilf is laying down in fear. I still cant believe ya, brother! Ygot a damn dragon to help us? And yer sure I wont fall off and die?!

Youre sitting up straight, with the still unconscious students resting by your sides. No guarantees. And that damn dragon happens to be right here, yknow.

She turns her head slightly. Is there too much turbulence for you, Sir Gundilf?

He keeps trembling on the ground. Not at all, lassie. Im just a bit of a wee bitch when it comes to flying ysee!

Sir Merlin, what does bitch mean? Ive heard you say it a few times.

You pinch the bridge of your nose and mumble. Ah shit, Smog. Im ruining your daughter here.
