we pay taxes for everything from public education to Congress salaries. taxes are always such a huge talking point with even more pointed fingers.

we get statements from our banks that tell us everywhere our money went. why don't tax payers get a statement around tax season to show us what the State and Feds have done with our money? is there a site like that?

I would personally be interested in knowing which institutions are getting what and how much. schools, hospitals, police departments, fire departments, military, etc... the public stuff, not private citizens like Jane Doe with the EBT card. BUT the overall money spent on such things per State/county/whatever would be useful info.

or am I late on this and we already have a public database that answers these questions?

Just Google "Where do our tax dollars go?" And you'll get plenty of sites that do a breakdown of the numbers. It's just a matter of which site you prefer.
