Just me or is the start of this game slow as fuck?

does it ever get good? I really liked the first

Yeah, I liked the game, but I also had a bit of a hard time starting out, not helped by how near every enemy is an HP sponge because they want you to use Driver and Blade Combos.

It does start slow as fuck. Things are more enjoyable once you're rocking a full party with multiple Blades on each person, but that takes a WHILE.

It does get good. I loved the game but I agree it starts really slow and takes way too long to get better. Big problem with the game, IMO.

That said after the halfway point the combat system becomes so addicting I've spent over 400 hours on it. Which is good because the Challenge Mode DLC requires a bunch of grinding.

another thing holding me back is I lost like three hours of progress due to my switch powering off and not having saved.

the save screen is a pain in the ass to access, why isnt there auto save wtf

That's perfectly fine TC, because that game is pretty slow starting out. The story doesn't pick up or get interesting until chapter 5, after chapter 1. It's barely a great game. Fanboys overrate it too much.

I actually think they do, but maybe that's just me. The story starts becoming a bit more involved and the characters start shedding their initial tropes.

Agree it is slow but once you ramp up the mechanics and blades, combat becomes fucking sweet

Gameplay gets a lot better once your whole party has 3 blades each, which doesn't happen for quite a while unfortunately.

I finished this game twice and honestly couldnt get into it. The combat is too slow to evolve and its honestly not very deep even when you have a full party. Then the process of getting new blades is playing a gacha game.

I unironically liked Rex a whole lot more towards the end. I still liked Shulk more but I never really hated Shulk to begin with, the same can't be said for Rex lol

I dunno if I'm a fanboy or whatever but I think Xenoblade Chronicles 1 and 2 are the switch games I enjoyed the most, very high quality games imo and I now have pretty high expectations of Monolith Soft
