True, TC. I'm a little surprised how worthless cursive is. I only ever use it when signing my name, and then it's probably half-assed. We put a lot of effort into learning stupid fucking cursive.

Cannot think of anything worthless except probably a bunch of lies/propaganda from history and economics. Cursive was useful for researching primary sources in college, for example. Also...signatures?

Even though I don't study cells or biology, knowing the general purpose of cells, DNA, and tissues helps me understand articles about vaccines, cancer, and diseases.

Even though I don't use cursive writing regularly, it taught me general penmanship and allowed me to develop a signature that's difficult to forge.

Even though I don't factor or solve logarithmic equations daily, I still have a more attuned algorithmic understanding of a process and whether or not that process has an inverse set of steps I can follow to return to a particular point.

Even though I'm not an avid reader I still have a developed vocabulary and articulation skills that have made me a better communicator at work.

Long division

Long division is a pretty good fundamental stepping stone honestly. It's also a first grade subject.
