69 y/o Leroy Fick, the Michigan Man who made headlines after winning the 2 MILLION dollar daily double lottery and was STILL collecting FOOD STAMPS has been found DEAD in a river as police say foul play is not involved!!

They recovered his body at a Tittabawassee River but have not disclosed the cause of death

He won $2 million smackers in Michigan's "Make Me Rich" game show in June 2010 but was downgraded after collecting the lump sum of 998,570.

He was featured on TLC reality show "Lottery Changed My Life" alongside his son, Jeff.

He and his son splurged on their near million dollar payout after he tore down his old home and built a new one ground up and splurged on a new car, a SLOT MACHINE, swords and FIREWORKS!!

He later admitted he was still on welfare through this Bridge Card after winning and after 2 YEARS from his win, he was flat broke again and was sentenced to jail for drugs and firearm possession

He confessed at the time he was on a fixed income of about 1100 a month. Fick said "The whole thing just blew up in my face. I thought people would love me if i helped them out some. I had the wrong idea, i gues. They all turned on me and that was it"

He and another contestant who won, Amanda Clayton were still using their welfare card after winnings.

That inspired Michigan Lottery to provide the Dept of Human Services the name of anyone who won 1000 or more on the show to determine eligibility for food stamps

His abuse of the program caused 15,000 families with assets of more than 5000 to lose food stamps in the state

Amanda was found dead in 2012 from an overdose

That doesn't counter what I said. It's still theft. All that is taxpayer money (sort of). The government isn't even entitled to so much as 25% of it.

It literally isn't. Lottery winners choose whether they want the lump sum or spaced payments.

You do realize part of the entire point of state lotteries is generating revenue for the state, right? And you also realize that people who play the lottery do so voluntarily and agree to pay applicable taxes on winnings, right?
