Its entirely up to the abused person. What they feel comfortable doing. But they need to know that they shouldnt make this decision based on everyone else. It should come from themselves. If they feel content not saying anything thats fine. But if holding it in is hurting them they shouldnt be afraid to say something, as hard as it may be. If youre on the outside and know of the abuse but werent part of it all you can really do is offer them support. Your support could help them become more comfortable with opening up about it.
