Dota's gotten better about having resources for new players, but it's still brutal. I feel like NA east is a lot less toxic than it used to be, but SEA is still very toxic and NA west gets some, especially if someone doesn't speak English

I was 5.2k before the new rating system/skill trees and I stopped right around then because I just didn't have the time. I miss coming up with awesome drafts for our 5 man to compensate for how much better the teams we were playing were.

We had one comp where we pretended to level 1 Rosh(at the old pit) and would consistently take 2-3 kills right off the bat when people fell for it. I miss that part of it for sure.

There's some new cheese where teams are taking the safe lane tier 1 before creeps meet. It's all in and not done very often, but it feels pretty similar to lv 1 rosh.

TNC is out, I think that's the end for SEA dota at the major. Their carry player is still a monster, I'm looking forward to seeing gabbi play more.

Gaaaa, the production on this tourney is SO GOOD. it's mind blowing. Lgd VS nigma coming up, if nigma wins they guarantee a slot at TI. If they lose, they're sent down to lower bracket.

The worst part about Dota is that when the game play experience really comes together, it REALLY fucking comes together.

The perfect game is when you and your teammates communicate, and there's even passive trash talk from the enemy team that's in good sport.

So you and your team are playing your hearts out and so is the enemy team, people are trying everything they can possibly do to win in the moment--insane last minute items, hail mary pushes from both teams, throne races, Roshan fakeouts, WOMBO COMBOS, etc.

One of my best games was ranked 3k and I was playing Razor mid vs Brood mid in 7.21. I got destroyed by her and they were pushing so hard that they had all the tier 2s at minute 18. Taken over our jungle. It felt like we already lost, trapped in our base.

Someone got lotus orb, and we were able to repel the enemy team for 25 minutes and defend our throne from being taken. Only one rax was up preventing megas. They were coming for a last push that they were probably going to win. Brood had become a massive problem with their Wraith King because of the lifesteal so I had been building Shivas.

I kept calling out to the team hold, hold, let my courier get this Platemail for Shivas. So here the fight is going and we're just trying to keep them pushed off of racks but they get it and one of our team is caught out and getting picked. I get the Shiva, courier immunity up and run in with phase boots BLASTING THE WHOLE TEAM WITH SHIVAS so they had half the life steal and HP regen and we were just able to wipe them.

With razors scepter for buildings and talent for +1 static storm target after that fight, I was so tanky as razor that static storm + Shivas and lighting lasso just kept on wiping them every single time.

We ended up winning. 81 minute match. Fuck.

This is one of the reasons I love the amateur competitive scene. I do a lot of casting for an amateur league and it's so much different and better than pub dota.

This game is about what I expected. Miracle needed to be ahead to be impactful, but some good ganks from lgd mean that you're stuck waiting for a spectre to come online, and that's never going to happen with a terror blade 6k ahead

Some REALLY good teams knocked out. EU regional qualifiers are going to be terrifying. There can now be only one between the 2 time defending champions(OG), and one of two players who have played at EVERY TI(Kuroky of team Nigma).
