Then after leaving, instead of faffing around with new trade deals and laws, they vote to join the US and officially become part of America. There's now a hard boarder between Scotland and England. He would get a signifcant amount of votes. Scotland isn't as left as you believe it to be. It just by in large views the Conservative Party as England. Although the UK is a fair bit poorer the the USA overall, so they might still fall short of what the USA would be looking for.
