I can't remember them all but I remember taking a typing class in 2003 because I thought it would be a piece of cake lol. we had that Mavis Beacon programmed installed in all of the computers and it had some pretty cool typing games, lol. just talking about it kinda makes me want to do it again lmao

I was in band freshmen year and played the alto saxophone. I wanted to play drums but that was taken by like the dudes. but I figured maybe I can be the kind of Jazz man that could make Bleeding Gums Murphy proud, so I went the route of the sax. I went through reeds fast though... I guess I had a habit of biting them.

there was a magic club that I joined in 7th grade. I don't remember most tricks but my nieces and nephews loved it when I made small items disappear on them when they were in elementary

None

I started a band with some friends in high school and that was basically my extra curricular. I also went to some training sessions for track team but never competed.

I could have put more effort in I guess

Like half of high school is elective courses here. I took a bunch of different stuff.

stage band 4th-10th
drafting 10th and 12th
ap chem and calc 11th and 12th respectively.

...i don't think my school had much in the way of electives.

edit: good call on the languages.

pascal and c++, each half a year in 10th
i think my 10th and 11th year german were also optional. i know foreign language in general were required, but i can't remember how many years.

Didn't have any options in middle school as far as I remember. In high school I took:

Typing
Cisco Networking 1 and 2
Sociology
Engineering
Java
Accounting

There might have been others, but that's all I can remember off the top of my head.

I am also a former alto sax player who wanted to play drums but everyone rushed and took the drum spots. Now I play a real drum kit, so it would be nice to have had some training.

I took PE and Art in middle school, or anything to avoid chorus.

CAD in 11th grade
some cooking class for 12 grade

there might have been more, but if so, I've already forgotten about them.

Let me think...

Two years of Spanish.
Two years of a "Healthcare professions" prep course.
Band for one year.
Teacher's aide for one year.
Art for one year (got cut the year after I took it).
Home Ec. for one year (was a great excuse to cook and sew; still have my blanket project from that class).
Physical Education for one year (there was a pregnant girl in our class so we got to all take it relatively easy).
Psychology for one year (was two college semesters taught long distance at my school).
A "computer skills" class where we learned to type without looking at the keyboard and how to make power points presentations (one year and also this teacher despised me).
I think I might have taken woodshop/agriculture in high school, but it could have been "junior high." There wasn't a big differentiation at my school.

At my school, you generally had seven subjects a year with four of them being the same every year (some version of math, science, history, and English/literature). I'm sure I've forgotten some of the electives, but it's been over a decade since I graduated.

I took wood shop every year of high school. Took theater in high school. Took study halls. Some navigating the internet class.

But shop was my main one.

they got rid of wood shop a couple years before I got to high school. I was mad because I grew up listening to my dad tell me about wood shop and metal shop when he was growing up, and I thought I was going to have my chance lol.

i was big into chorus for all of middle school and then the first year of high school, but i got tired of being the only male in the class who could sing tenor so i quit it in 10th grade. after that it was electronics and shop class.

Our school had a wood shop and a FFA shop route. You could learn about fixing tractors and engines in the FFA-ag science classes which seemed sort of cool. Since the shops were on site, you could still take normal classes too.

You could leave school half a day and learn welding or a trade but it nuked your college options.

I had band (trombone) in middle school which took my only elective slot.

I had a few electives in high school but they were pretty garbage. My high school didn't have many options and free period/study hall wasn't a thing. I remember an art history, a ceramics class, a psychology class (we watched movies and wrote essays on the mental illness from the movie).... and maybe that is it? Not sure if there were others. I took AP stats even though I didn't need another math credit. We had 9 periods in a day (home room and lunch both counting as one each) so you needed effectively 7 classes each day. Gym was every other day, as were a few other classes.

Man my elective courses in high school were the fucking best

Some technology class where the teacher literally let us just bring a Wii and we played Smash Brawl the entire class every day (there was of course a power struggle for the 1 tv in the class, but eventually the lame ass halo kids lost that fight and had to sit there with their dick in the hands the rest of the semester, as they deserved)

Music for listeners class which was a class where the teacher just put on random movies. We watched every single star wars, lord of the rings, and harry potter movies.

Marine ecology, just a chill ass class where we watched nature documentaries about fish, sometimes we dissect some sea life

Team sports, I don't know WHAT this class was actually supposed to be, but for me it turned into an hour of 4 square every day

Some intro to theater class that I took as a senior that was 99% freshman. I learned real quick that freshman do damn near anything a senior says, and was able to use that to get full control over writing the play we had to do at the end of the year. I got banned from theater entirely due to the content of that play, but I was a senior so even the assistant principal was wondering why I was sitting in her office getting such a worthless punishment.

The one that sucked was Aerobics. That class was no where near as chill as I thought it would be. When the teacher popped in a aerobics vhs tap with some drill sergeant yelling that we were about to get fucked up, I knew I was in trouble.

wish they'd have had something like that in my high school, i know they had art courses but i'm pretty sure they had a shit budget and might have gotten shut down when some ass stole a bunch of spray paint.

to be fair, I went to three different high schools. one didn't even have driver's ed and another didn't have PE equipment except for basketballs, lol. you were either going to be walking around the field or playing basketball lol.
