When I first started driving, I would spend so much time giving my friends rides anywhere they needed to go. There was one friend who took full advantage of this almost every day. I think the breaking point for me was him at one point promising to pay gas money the following day. Gas was above $4/gallon in Austin, TX at the time and I wasn't making very much money at all. I filled up my gas tank and then used a quarter tank driving him all over town. He got out of the car and went home.
