Just cause they decided to use the Cyberpunk 2020 world and that world uses the genre's name as its name.

Maybe that as a name of the genre wasn't as prevalent when the game was developed. I know all the early stuff we'd consider cyberpunk was just considered "science fiction" when it first arrived.

But, I feel like writers/devs might not even want to touch the genre a bit because of the game
