- Showing up at a party and for the sake of small talk. You're not entitled to have people respond to you, so don't be disappointed if they don't.
- Buying a birthday gift and expecting gratitude. The gift is for their happiness, not your personal validation, and maybe they won't even like the gift. - Applying for work and getting frustated if repeatedly denied, regardless of how entry level the job is or your qualifications. You're not owed a job, regardless of how much you need one; if rejected chances are you wouldn't have been a good worker.
