The most normal and well-adjusted are the Chemists. Easily.

I would say psychology has the highest proportion of normal, functional people. In my school it was the 3rd most common major I believe. All the others are terrible in their own special way, but I voted CS.

I don't need them to write a ticket out anymore. My employees directly message me and often times a reboot is what the doctor ordered and it fixes their shit so SIT DOWN.

To clarify: there's a fairly popular major in Germany known as Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen, or "economic engineering" (though Google translates it to "industrial engineering and management")

It's full of frat bros funded by daddy who think that the world revolves around them just because their major both the words "wirtschaft" (economics) and "Ingenieur" (engineering) in the title

At the graduate level, econometrics requires fairly rigorous Real Analysis and Statistics, more advanced than psychology would require probably.

But I don't really care either way if we call it a STEM field.

I mean, the primary issue with the STEM category is that it's completely arbitrary. Math is very different from science and science is very different from engineering. Like, there's nothing that actually connects them together.

lol, that doesn't make any sense.

Psychology is a science because it gathers empirical evidence to understand the natural world. Many people just have no actual exposure to psychology so they think psychology = talk therapy.

Ive taken psychology courses. I know what its about.
Same can be said about other similar disciplines, but am I getting a discount from AAA for having a STEAM degree, no.

Sure, since you are so well versed: what is it about psychology that demarcates it as not science to you?

I don't think even the biggest history buffs would consider it STEM.

On the other hand, something like linguistics should probably be considered STEM. My buddy who studied that did 3 times as much programming as I did in my Math major.

It's very, very arbitrary.

Strongly disagree. All of them are based on using logical principles to attempt to explain stuff. Plus, in my experience, the lines between maths and science, and science and engineering, can get really blurry sometimes

Like, there's no other reason why a discipline like elasticity theory is considered part of mechanical engineering, whereas something like gas theory is considered science (physics/chemistry). They both attempt to explain matter, just different states of it
