Is it worth it? How long did it take? Invisalign vs. traditional?

I had braces as a kid that fixed the parts of my teeth that were dangerously crowded or misaligned and have pretty okay teeth now. But there are still a couple that are overlapping and one of my top front teeth seems to be slowly, slightly getting pushed backwards and out of alignment. I definitely don't want that to get any worse in any way.

If that major tooth doesn't change any more, I wouldn't have any urgency. I'm 32 and have all my wisdom teeth out, so hopefully my jaw can take and maintain any changes. I was around 10 or 11 when I finished my braces and I know my bones have changed shape since then.

I'm in a similar situation as you, I had braces as a kid but I didn't wear my retainer and now my teeth have shifted again.

I've looked into my options and I'm leaning towards Byte Aligners. They seem to work faster and cheaper then both Invisalign and traditional braces.

Yes. It's worth it even if you are an old. Get your crowded teeth fixed before you are old.

Byte Aligners
Cool tip, thanks! I have a regular dentist check-up this summer, so I want to talk to them about what my insurance might cover, too. But those do look promising.

Totally worth it. Between braces and jaw surgery it was almost 13 grand and I had to have my jaw wired shut for a month and it was still worth it.

Got em at 32 and got em off 3 or so years later.

Also in my case my lower teeth got rearranged by a punch sparring so they were literally destroying my upper teeth anytime I chewed. It was basically necessary. Before that my bottom teeth were crooked but I wouldn't have spent 13 grand on fixing em.

Also this.

One of the assistants at the orthodontist told me about a dude who got braces at 80 and got em off on his 83rd birthday and he said it was the best thing he ever did. Which is either really cool or a little sad.

Wow! I'm sorry you got so effed up, but way to be! That's a really strong endorsement from you and an unbeatable from the old guy.

I had a palate expander. That was some Cenobite-feeling stuff stuff. I'm hoping there's nothing too wild to deal with this time.

Thanks. At the time it seemed like nothing. He got me and I felt a weird kinda pop and we just kept going. Then way later I happened to notice my bottom teeth and I was like "huh. Did I always have a middle bottom tooth that was behind the others ones?" And then way later I realized it was messing up my teeth bad.

I wanted them to get a pic when my whole upper jaw was cut out, they removed it, cut it in half, and pinned it back forward and up a bit and spread out. They wouldn't and I'm actually super glad in retrospect.
