The official Japanese website for Shin Megami Tensei V was mistakenly updated with release details for the upcoming game, including its release date of Thursday, November 11, 2021. As the information came from a Japanese website, it is possible that this release date is only for Japan, however the game was previously stated to have a worldwide release, so it would presumably close to other territories.

Presumably with an error made prior to the E3 2021 Nintendo Direct on June 15th, information for the Nintendo Switch exclusive RPG and next mainline entry in the SMT series has been displayed erroneously on the Japanese webpage.

The main character, a high school student living an ordinary life, wanders into another world called Daath. The hero fuses with a mysterious man and becomes a Naobino, a forbidden being, throwing himself into a battle between gods and demons.

In the mysterious world Daath, where desert is found all over, various gods and demons are scattered about, including demons as large as mountains and giant birds flying in the sky.

As you explore Daath, youll face over 200 demons.
In addition to familiar demons, several demons newly drawn by Masayuki Doi, the character designer of this title, will also appear.

D-at, an untamed land, is under attack by powerful demons. The protagonist clears his way through to pursue the truth. Make use of various means to advance, such as growing the power of Naobino and sometimes utilizing the power of the demons themselves.
The end of the game can diverge in many ways. What is the future you will choose?
So, I guess the bulk of the game is in an alternate world, instead of Tokyo/Earth being destroyed like usual...

Only 200 demons is really low compared to SMT4 and Apocalypse. Doesnt Nocturne have more than that? It better have Ose!
Nocturne only has 186 demons, and SMT4/Apocalypse has so many because they're using sprites, most of which are reused from Strange Journey (which in turn are mostly animated versions of the Soul Hackers sprites).

The most surprising part to me is that Atlus would actually do a worldwide release for a big game. Really tired of their localizations anywhere from months to over a year after the JP release. Really kills a lot of a game's excitement.

Wonder why it took so long for the japanese release for the world wide release.

World wide release right?
Yeah, at least that's how it was announced months ago.
