I just finished it, and I absolutely loved it. The death games were a lot of fun, I loved unraveling the individual character plots, and the main plot was surprisingly compelling considering I wasn't interested in it at all at first.

The ice skating, fighting game, and air hockey episodes in particular were all top notch.

I hadn't heard that much discussion about the show in advance, but a friend recommended it to me. Really glad I gave it a shot.

I'd definitely recommend continuing on it. The only major problem that I had was that the middle (episodes 5-7, mainly) was a bit slow. Still, I don't think it ever got bad or anything, and the endgame stuff is incredible.

The air hockey episodes and the ice skating episode in particular are absolutely top notch.

Yeah, the OP was outstanding, and super super catchy. The ED was great too, especially the episode-specific ones.

The first episodes were really good but it ended up meandering a little towards the end. Maybe I just wasn't that interested in the main story, but only because I really liked the mystery surrounding the premise.

I feel like it comes down to how invested you get into the main two characters. At the end of it, the plot was extremely driven by those two, and it kind of rides or dies on how much you like them.

I do admittedly wish that the plot had done a bit more with the world and side characters, though.

I'd definitely recommend it. If nothing else, I think the entire series is up on YouTube. I kind of ran into episodes of it by accident while searching for the ED, and I think they're all there in decent quality. (I watched on the Funimation app, though, since I have a free trial)
