If the iron dome didn't exist, the number of civilian israeli casualties would likely be enormous.

Don't get me wrong the Israeli response was massively disproportionate and could easily be considered a war crime. But firing thousands of rockets into civilian areas is no laughing matter either and also a war crime.
And though the iron dome system takes care of most of these homemade rockets they aren't just fireworks.

while her family had a safe room, idk if most people on the Gaza Strip do; while she goes on about how scared her son's dog is, Palestinian family's have been wiped out.

and yes, Hamas raining missiles on Israel is terrible, the IDF is also intentionally targeting Palestinian citizens.

of course it's not okay, but i'm much more comfortable with someone empyting ten magazines with bulletproof glass in the way than with bulletproof glass not in the way, and our priority should be stopping the latter

It's like saying nothing was funny and only referencing what happened before the person slipped on a banana peel. Completely playing ignorant to the banana peel part. I'm a dog person btw. But I feel kimd of like a dick for thinking people shouldn't use fireworks all summer cause it scares dogs. This lady feels nothing about the people actually harmed by the missile strike to the extent she thinks it's ok to go on tv and mention a dog being scared.

The woman talking about the distressed dog was being very stupid and short-sighted

But the author who responded was being evil, downplaying the fact that thousands of rockets were trying to murder Israeli civilians. Its lucky they do have that defense system but she was outright acting like it was no big deal or they were being whiny for not wanting thousands of lethal rockets to be sent at them.

The Iron Dome is great! It's something out of a fantasy story, and it protects Israelis from Hamas! What isn't great is Israel then bombing media buildings and massacring Palestinian children and calling them terrorists after the fact.
