Is it still a bit jarring to see "they" used so many times for a single person?


This might take a while for me to get used to, since elementary school teachers had always taught me not to use singular they. But as times change, so does grammar?

It's been a thing for centuries.

I always used non descriptives to make conversations seem less personal. So it feels normal to me but less personal.
