This will be like my 4th or 5th playthru. I just got to Bart's Pirate hideout.

Lemme just say that this game, like a lot of old RPGs, is unplayable without a turbo speed button. Thank god for that.

A lot of people keep saying this game is a great game because it takes like 100 hours to play the game. Well the reason it takes forever to play this game is because you go from cutscene to fucking cutscene like crazy. And you can't skip them and there's not an option for fast speed text. So using the length is great is a dumbass reason to say this game is good. I'm glad we got that out the way.

The only reason to fight in human mode is to grind deathblows. That's it. Fighting in Gears gives you more exp and gold.

The game throws a shit load of messy lore at you right from the get go. Tons of names and locations thrown at you. Kislev, Aveh, Geblar, Solaris, Ethos, Nisan. The game and people all talk in riddles and mysteries. You know Citen is a lot more than he shows himself but who exactly is he? Who is Cain? What are these flashbacks Fei keep having? What the hell is Elly's deal? I guess wanting to figure out all these things is part of the game's charm. The only people who is direct is Bart and Grahf. They tell Fei exactly what they want.

Just got to Nisan but got into the world map and grinded for Bart's and Citen's newer deathblows.

Another thing I'd like is the uselessness of equipments.

Alright so i just saved Margie. A lot of things are happening real fast but at the same time it's at a slow pace.

Apparently Bart and his crew has been planning to take back the Aveh throne but with Margie's kidnapping by Aveh, they have prioritize to save her first. And the plan to save her is quite bad because they winged it, and somehow it worked. They found out they could use the sewers to get right into the castle and the martial arts tournament would be big enough to cause a distraction that the castle will be barebones with security. Ramsus is reminded of Id with Fei so that freaks him out and slows him down and Elly was conveniently there to aid their escape.

From here, the game reveals a ton of stuff like who Sig and Citen are but if you dunno the background lore of what's going on then you are just going to be more and more confused. Bart is such a cringe dude talking to himself and shit. Fei is still dealing with what he did to Lahan and coming to terms on who he might really be. The story is definitely interesting and worthy of unraveling should you understand every step of what's going on.

The game, again, is pushing you from cutscene to cutscene. It's very plot focused making the fighting and battle stuff seem trivial which is a bad thing to me.

Id play it once to see of you like it. Theres so much talking but also there human and mech fighting. While theyre both solid they seem like different games so sometimes its not fun to just jump between the 2 throughout the game.

There was a lot of story yet i dont remember any of it......

It is not solid. The only reason you fight in human form is to grind deathblows. Everything else is preferred in Gears fighting.

I enjoyed the human fighting more. Mech fighting seemed really basic.

Welp, went through all the cutscenes of planning to get back Aveh for Bart. Shit obviously didn't go down as planned, Aveh knew we was coming and Grahf turned Fei into Id and fucked everything up again.

Kislev is one of my favorite part of the game because of the sewer dungeon. Loved the grind there and loved the small murder and horror arc we get here. It's a breath of fresh air from all the mystery drama the game forces down your throat. Kislev also gives me the Midgar vibe because it makes you feel trapped and hopeless but you gotta break free somehow.

Anyway, I did all that and became battle champ in Kislev. Just got to the part where I'm free but I gotta steal Weltall and save Rico. I had forgotten that Wiseman and Grahf shared the same body but I'm not sure they know they are sharing the same body at this point in the game.

Saved Rico and saved Kislev from a genocidal attack from Geblar. With Fei, Rico and Elly's help they were able to fight off the genocide and now we're heading to some hidden goliath Kislev base.

The game so far has been exactly how I expected it. The plot is a gigantic messy shit storm, I really dunno how anyone knew how to follow it at the time of its release. At this point you would prolly think either the Ethos, Shevat or Solaris are the people with true power and who is control but it goes way beyond even that.

It's hard to make out Fei and Elly's relationship. Half the time I dunno what the shit they're talking about but then I remember they're fated and destined to forever be with each other no matter what so yeah.

Just got done with Wels infested ship with Billy. I love this dungeon because again it shows a horror side of the game and I like Billy. The dungeon was a lot easier than I remembered maybe because all of my characters was like level 48 with all of the current DBs already.

Elly is so fucking weird. Why be in the military if you're not suited for it? She sympathizes with the surface dwellers, don't follow orders well and completely opens up to Fei upon meeting him.
