Even if Jigsaw didnt know that amanda tossed the key so it would go down the drain, he still closed the door on him. Then there was the safe room. That was nearly impossible to win. he only had a couple of hours to trudge around a glass covered room with a tealight, trying literally hundreds of combos in that safe. Then there was amandas trap where she had to gut somebody to get the key. That guy had 0 chance of survival, and didnt even has his own game. He was just there to die. He's certainly working from a very twisted and insane altruistic perspective, but that doesn't mean he's not the villain.
