Whenever these topics pop up, people always seem to vilify people who dont want kids.

Like, it isnt for everyone. You dont know how others live. For me, its definitely an anxiety thing. I dont like having to worry about things. And its also a financial thing. Im in my early 30s and I only JUST got a job that (I think) pays well. But thats for me. If I had to take care of a child, I dont think it would be possible on my salary, or it would be possible but very non-ideal living conditions. Im not putting a kid through that.

And of course theres the whole thing with not having a woman in my life. Id love to find someone and Id also like to spend time with JUST them for a while before we have kids. But, again, at my age, its getting less and less likely. I dont want to be one of those people who has kids at age 40+.

So please, be a little more empathetic towards people who dont want kids. It isnt always neckbeard manchildren reasons.

It's not surprising that the socially awkward people here can't figure out why someone could possibly want kids.

I'm looking into adoption since I'm not able to have kids and it's because I feel as if life would be a bit more fulfilling. Not so much for the fact that I have a kid, but because I've always wanted to be a father and provide the love and care I didn't receive as a child and I would enjoy it despite how exhausting it would be.

That sounds selfish when I read it back, but I know what I'm trying to say.

I find the main motive for child birth is self fulfillment and living up to standards

Supposedly by 2050 there will be age reversal medicine. Things like nanobiotech, and other stuff will make it possible for people to live indefinitely or at the very least biblical lifespans.

Having children is a bit pointless with this considered. In the next coming decades medicine will be so advanced that having children might become a thing of the past. Something like talomerization(sp) seems completely possible within our lifespan. The question is, who in the world wants to live a healthy lifestyle on this planet past the age of like...50? This world is really crazy. I see no point in living past 50. I also see no point in children at this point right now. If by some miracle they can fix whatever is wrong with my brain(i have a brain disorder) then i would be happy living a very long healthy life but i still would not want children. Bringing children into this world at any period of time is not a good idea. Surely they will suffer if they see their parents die which is very likely. Then its the vicious cycle all over again. Sorry. Rather be with a person i love and not have children and grow old and just have as much fun as possible.

I dont have kids. Dont want kids. However, I can see why two people who love each other a lot and are best friends may want kids. They are creating a bond through that child.

If I ever meet such a person I can see myself changing my mind and wanting a kid. But if it doesnt happen no way would I ever want a kid.
