Oh I get that mtf wants to be called a woman and ftm wants to be called a man, it's just "trans man" and "trans woman" specifically that make me short-circuit for a sec. I dunno what it is about those terms specifically, the three letter acronyms are just easier for me to recognize. I hope that isn't offensive or anything, I'm really not trying to be. Terminology that I don't use often because of my limited social circle is difficult for me to remember sometimes.

eh, not offensive exactly, but not ideal. and definitely becoming quite dated.

trans woman -> woman who is trans.
black woman -> woman who is black.
tall woman -> woman who is tall.
tall, black, trans woman.

it's the same adjective thing you've been using all your life.
