Some reasons I can think of: men are more opportunistic in their pursuits. this means some may even go on dating apps even if they're attached/married already men are more likely to look for more than just a r/s, like hookups. meanwhile if a girl goes on the dating app, she's more likely looking for smth serious women may actually be more social than men and have a wider pool of friends to tap to for dating. I mean... just look at the gender ratio of CE or reddit... I feel like most women don't bother browsing the internet as much because they go out more often for social activities since women generally get far far more success on the dating app, they're unlikely to stay there long. Meanwhile most men never find success so their profile just lingers in the void of the app...causing a massive accumulation of more and more profiles thereafter Also, do keep in mind they conducted this on Tinder, known more for hookups and y'know it's mostly men looking for the hookups, not women.
