No_U_L7 05/27/21 3:48:09 PM #1:	background: rolex isn't like other watch brands. you don't just go into a store, tell them what you want and they sell it to you. you need to know the dealer, probably buy other expensive watches from them and if they like you they'll put you on a waitlist. then a few months to a year later, they'll give you a call and you can buy a watch from them. because of this exclusivity, rolex is actually worth more than the retail price on the second hand market today: so i called up my local rolex dealer. i told them the model i wanted rolex: sorry, the waitlist for that particular model is extremely long me: how long would it take for me to get one? rolex: it would be a minimum of a year, maybe up to 2 (so they're saying they have to put me on a waitlist and in 2 years i'll have the pleasure of paying them $6,000 for a watch) me: ok that's fine, can you put me on the waitlist? rolex: (sighs) im with a customer right now, why dont you give me a call back later and i'll get your info to add you to the list immediately hangs up before i even respond ._. --- https://imgur.com/QPgN9 <cite>No_U_L7 posted [p:954365297] in called my ... Make sure they dont think you are going to flip the watch This goes hand in hand with tip number 5, anything you can do to make sure the Rolex authorised dealer doesnt think you are going to flip the watch for a profit. Rolex authorised dealers put people to the top of the Rolex waiting list who they think is going to keep the watch for a long time, so if you have a great story about why you want a watch as in tip 7 this will put you in good form for getting a Rolex at retail. I am not condoning manufacturing any story to get yourself bumped up the waiting list but for example, I know a couple of people who have inherited money from their father and want to buy a Rolex with the money. In this case, the Rolex authorised dealer knows that you are never going to sell this watch because it means too much to you. So if you have a story like this make sure you tell the authorised dealer about it so that they know you arent just going to flip the watch to make a quick profit. As a thank you for reading this far here are a couple of bonus tips which you can also try beat the Rolex waiting list. Go in person, seduce him.
