You're in a burning building, desperately trying to run out of it before it's too late.

When suddenly you pass by a large room completely filled with people, mostly women in strange clothing. They are all sitting or kneeling in reverence and surround/gaze at a tubby man in a weird robe who is chanting something and has his eyes closed. There has to be at least 60 of them.

"What are you doing!? There's a fire! We have to get out of here!" you shout but most of the cult ignores you entirely like you don't exist.

One young woman turns to you and says "The Leader says we will be saved if we remain here. The leader is always right. We will be safe. You're welcome to join us."

"Join you!? You're gonna DIE... I.. I don't have time for this." you say as you feel the heat of the approaching flames getting warmer. "WE have to go! Now!"

"Leader says if we stay in this spot and have faith, we will prevail. You'll see. We will find our salvation through the leader." The woman says with happy optimistic eyes

Perplexed but out of time and options, you leave them to their fate and continue booking it for the exit. There is nothing physically preventing the cult from leaving alongside you.

You are about to escape the building when you see the water control system in the distance and notice someone has turned the water irrigation valve off. This is preventing the sprinklers from producing water even though they are activated. The cult were all in a room directly below sprinkers. The most sprinklers out of any room in the building, they would be drenched if the system was working.

But then you hear a father, his brother and his 2 daughters banging on a door down a long corridor in the opposite direction, screaming for help. The door can't open because it is being blocked by a pile of rubble on your side. And the fire is approaching them so they can't turn around. They are trapped and helpless. There are no sprinklers in the corridor where they are stuck.

You can either run to the water control valve and turn it on. Allowing the sprinkler system to function and thus saving the entire cult. But the family of 4 will burn to death.

Or you can run to the blocked door and remove the blockage. Allowing the family to escape but if you do this you won't have time to run to the water control valve before the dozens of cultists have already burned in a giant fireball blaze of agony.

You can't be in both places at once and there is no one else around. Oh if only one of those cultists had come with you. If only!

didnt read all that tripe. I use the cult women as a human ladder to reach the trapped dog, then when the floor collapses I throw down the strangers baby to break our fall and escape unharmed with the pup.

Why would I even be talking after this sentence?

The choice between saving a potentially decent family, or saving a kult, and thus allowing yet another dumbass belief to spread among stupid/naive people isn't really much of a dilemma.

I've always wanted a cult of beautiful but crazy chicks to adore me as their savior. This is the easiest choice ever.

tbh i'm probably going to be too focused on getting the fuck out of there to save either one. I doubt i'd notice the water control systems in the middle of a crisis like that.
