Spider-Man ride? After a (very quick) skim, it looks it's a device that lets you shoot more things in a virtual interactive ride? I don't really see what's wrong with that. Didn't Universal have those Harry Potter wands that interact with different things in the park? I'd argue that is worse. Sure, they are trying to find a way to make more money, but it's not hindering the fun of the people who don't have it. I'd argue in the case of the Harry Potter wands, you'd see things that simply do nothing (which is worse). In both scenarios, you pay for entry into the park, have access to all of the free features because of it (attractions, shows, interactive environments, etc), but are being denied a small bonus feature that doesn't detract from the full experience.
