I want to buy a house, but my credit sucks. I'm pretty sure I would denied a loan. Currently I'm saving for one I would on Craigslist that only needs a $10,000 down payment. I feel like I would probably want a better house with more bedrooms, space, and a bathtub. Does anyone know how I could find some better options?

If you don't mind sharing space u could look for people looking for housemates in your area.

Or get married to someone with credit.

I like the marriage idea, or just finding a girlfriend I could live with. I need to force myself to socialize more and start using apps.

I think it's like 350. I've never had a credit card.

I kind of ignored my student loans after I quit school. I wasn't in a good spot mentally at the time.

Sad truth is, youre not gonna get a house. Also, if its Craigslist its 9/10 times a scam.

try to pay off your debt. Get a CC thatll take you. Make on time payments

You could probably get your credit to like 700 in a year if you really, really work at it. You can literally write letters and talk to people and consolidate loans and get loans waived and set up plans and get your stuff fixed

but thats at least a year

If only it was 2006 again, you could get a 5 bedroom 4 bathroom house with 350 credit with no money down

Have you paid it off? First step should be to catch up on missed payments and then pay on time moving forward. Then get a secured credit card with a decent deposit that you increase every month (you'll get that deposit back), put a subscription service on that card like spotify or whatever, auto pay it every month. Don't use it for anything else. Sit back and watch your credit score go up. You can probably get your score to be decent enough in a year or so. I would start that asap.

saying stuff like I want a house now seems like a pretty bad mindset, should be more like I want to work toward buying a house. Dont make the mistake of buying a house you can barely afford, all the unexpected stuff that comes with being a house owner will be the end of you

Eliminate your debt and save up enough to put 20% down.

Go talk to a loan officer. They may not pre approve you for a loan but they'll spell out what you need to do to get approved.

Find an unoccupied house and just move in all sneaky sneak.

Stay there long enough for local squatting laws to protect you.

Free housing for the win.
