Not to say anything against the 10+ white people ahead of me that were let go without checking.

all I had was a 5 dollar cat litter container and a dominos pasta my wife wanted. I had just thrown out the receipt at the dominos too lol.

I told her I had just thrown it away at that the dominos trash bin and she could grab it if it she wanted too. but Im not going through their trash. She got upset and called her manager who just saw us at self-checkout and let us go.

Who the hell lets Walmart check your receipt? There's no contractual obligation like Sam's Club.

Just keep walking and ignore them. If they say something, just say that you don't legally have to show anything.

I've only been stopped once leaving Walmart, when she asked I said "uhhhhh sure" while I was looking through to see which bag put it in and she said "uhhhhhh yeah" back at me in a mocking tone. I looked up at her with a death stare like I was about to fucking throttle her neck right there lol.

I don't know if she was just trying to be funny or genuinely being a bitch about it but it landed very wrong.

I turn into an asshole whenever anybody asks to check my receipt. Its one of the only things that legitimately makes me mad.

you have a person watching us at self checkout, you have another person watching that person, you have cameras, and then you want to check my receipt as I leave? You can fuck right off. I have given you my money, this is now my property. It is no longer your property.

if they are getting robbed so much from self checkout that they need this, then GET RID OF SELF CHECKOUT! Pay people to check people out!

target has self checkout, Safeway has self checkout, fuckin Home Depot has self checkout, none of them check your receipt at the door.

I have taken to doing things like handing them the wrong receipt as I walk out, or when they say can I see your receipt I just say no and keep walking, and the one time a guy really tried to stop me after I said no (he stepped in front of my cart) I threw a hissy fit and went Karen and started talking shit till the manager told me he was sorry and I left.

I know Im being irrational, I know its not the employees fault, but it literally pisses me off so much that Walmart of all places is the one that does this. They lock of their liquor, they lock up their hair products for Black people, they lock up condoms, they lock up shaving razors, they lock up batteries, they make more money than any other grocery store, they ruin communities and take advantage of their employees, and then have the audacity to ask for my receipt?

I save all my walmart receipts so when they ask i give them around 56. Dont worry i put the most recent one in the middle.

I dont shop at Walmart anymore though. Had my final bad experience at the start of covid when an employee yelled at me that they were closed and to get out at 6:45 pm and I was like what time do you close? And he was like SEVEN! And I got fucking hot and told him he doesnt have to be an asshole and he needs to learn how to talk to people

Wal-mart always checks receipts for unbagged items. I'm pretty sure it's their policy. They have someone at the door specifically for this at all the Wal-marts here..

This is only bad experience I have ever had that involved an employee. My bad experiences at Walmart are their liquor being locked up and I push the button and nobody comes and I have to go find somebody. Or that they have one check stand open, with a million self checkouts, but you have to go through the check stand if you have alcohol, but they wont open another one even if theres ten people in line. Or the fact that they close down the media aisle at night, when sometimes I wanna buy some media after work, and it is apparently closed because of.. fucking no reason whatsoever. Or the fact that they have the audacity to check my receipt.

I literally put my headphones in the second I get to the grocery and try not to interact with anybody.

I'll be honest, I work there and it's a pain in the ass for me as well when nobody comes to the locked cases when called. I don't have the keys so there's nothing I can do other than keep calling on the intercom. One would think if nobody's around with the keys that a manager would come by and open it.

And THATS fuckin annoying as well! I push the thing and wait patiently. Somebody else walks up and pushes it and makes a jokey small talk thing at me. I go and try to find somebody, five aisles down I find somebody. Theyre like uhhh I dont have a key, lemme call somebody.
