Some of my friends (and some family) have been doing some traveling lately and they keep suggesting that I should start giving it a try.

I don't know. There are places I'd like to visit one of these days, but I never really had a desire to travel. I'm so caught up with things going on where I am right now that I'd probably have a hard time enjoying myself because I would be too busy thinking about stuff going on at home lol

Do you truly have no interest in seeing other places?

I hit this often. if I can't fly in a short amount of time I tend to not follow thru. I dont like spending whole days just physically traveling...

nope, wish i could afford to travel more. Have a nice trip next month planned that's making every day a drag because i can't wait for it.

It's a little of both for me. I don't like moving around too much and I've never flown, so that's still a fear I need to get over.
There are places I would like to go one of these days though.

I am beyond excited for first real vacation since the pandemic. Caribbean cruise with my girlfriend and some other friends. Not until January though :(

I get anxiety leading up to leaving, but it tends to be worth it to be in a different location for a while. nice way to break up the monotony of every day life

This. I like the idea of visiting exotic places but the act of traveling is stressful to me. Especially as I get older and more set in my ways.

We're all going to die, so no.

If you dont like it, you dont like it. Unfortunately for me most of my friends are the same.

I do have a group who is always down for vacation style traveling and my best friend is always down for the more extreme parts of traveling I like to do.

Im kinda weird in that I pretty much like every part of traveling (as long as Im making my flights). Got some really cool stuff coming up, but I always wish I could devote more time for it

Most people in my profession join to travel and go new places.

I'm perfectly happy never setting foot outside the US lol

I'd ideally like to travel but I'm too anxious and have too many other problems. I've accepted that I won't really leave my bubble. :/

I love to travel. European vacation is in the works. Maybe Italy again. I've been to 37 of the 50 states, including 4 coast to coast roadtrips in the U.S. Other than the coasts, I have no desire to see the rest of the country.

I do miss traveling for work which has not happened because of COVID

Thankfully things are lessening up and I get to go to a conference in Colorado Springs for a week in late August early September so super looking forward to that

Though for me hiking is something Im really into and you can atleast find a trail worth doing in about any state

I love reading history books and writing about culture. I have no desire to travel whatsoever. I feel like the books give you a lot more insight about a place than actually traveling. Traveling right now, unless you can speak its language, you will just visit different touristy destination and not actually immersing yourself in that place or culture. I FUCKING hate tourism. Actual travel and exploring is still possible, but the chance diminish just ny languange barrier and usually having private guides/translator are too expensive compared to tours.

Some exceptions are museums (which sadly taken over by instagram museums) and trying local cuisines.

I think effort comes into it. Travelling the world takes a lot of it. It was my least favourite part and I honestly made myself go instead of just wanting to be safe and comfy at home with my things.

Changed me a bit though. I a much happier and fulfilled person when moving around.

I dont like to travel just for the sake of traveling. If theres a reason like a wedding or gathering, thats fun. If its just to see sights and stuff then that doesnt really interest me.

Experiencing new places is only fun if you have people with you to share it.

You dont have to travel to do things. I dont travel much but I go out all the time. Learning to have a good time in any environment makes like more enjoyable. Shouldnt have to spend thousands on a vacation to feel satisfied.

Then get people! That sounds flippant, but I mean it. I had zero local friends 4 years ago. I forced myself to be social and have a lot now.

Man I dont mean to be pessimistic but most new friends I meet at this age are superficial. Were friends and theres no hard feelings but they dont have my back like my old friends do.

As I get older Im realizing most people really only have maybe four real friends. People that you can count on in an emergency and can trust with your life. I value you that kind of stuff. I like to meet new people but I always gravitate back to what I know.

I've traveled a decent amount and I clearly don't get the same enjoyment other people do out of it. Especially with sight seeing. I also get fatigued somewhat quickly with travel.

But the people I love enjoy it so I go along with it.

We have a different idea of traveling then. Im not thinking of just going state to state.

Going international or to an island certainly isnt cheap though.

No, we don't. You can easily find plane tickets anywhere in the world for <1000 depending on the time of year, and staying in hostels and not buying expensive food greatly cuts down costs
