I'm staying in a hotel in New York for a few days while on a work trip.
I asked the front desk if there was anything good to eat walking distance and they straight up told me no lol
They recommended me a specific halal place on uber eats though so I decide to order it.
My uber eats delivery person is on a bike and is stopping somewhere else along the way.

If my food is cold and/or a mess I'm going to have to rate it low, which sucks because that's a person's livelihood but at the same time I want my food in edible condition, ya know?

Unless youre staying in like, the boonies in Bronx or Queens this is assuredly not true

but yeah doordash has always been here for me, but basically anyone on any app will be on a bike

If you're in Manhattan, the hotel played you.

Should have just asked here. If you're going for halal, you can't beat Halal Guys. The original is on 53rd and 6th and there's tons of extra carts and restaurant versions up and down Manhattan.

Update:
The food is here, mostly warm, and not crushed or anything like that so I'm happy.

For those of you asking where I am, I'm at the Feather Factory hotel in Long Island.
Sadly this is my last night here and I haven't gotten to explore the city :(

Anyone wanna come pick me up and go exploring? Lol

Ive used Uber Eats one time, to order Applebees for my wife and I when we were staying at a hotel in Orlando. It was like $60, got there late, was cold and crushed.

That same order costs like $30 in the restaurant

Back when I was there, it was before UberEats and DoorDash, everything was through seamless and delivered via bike. It was great. But this was from LES, so it's pretty restaurant rich.

You're not getting mugged in LIC in broad daylight unless you completely roll over and fall to pieces the second someone looks at you wrong. AKA if you're as soft as babyshit in the microwave. Yeah trash pizza with god awful soggy folds under it's own weight pizza. Why do you I need to repeat myself 3 times to you? That's not even getting into the terrible cheese sauce ratio there. And just lazily throwing 80% of the toppings on 30% of the pizza.

That I do not know, but use your instincts, if it looks touristy...it will probably be alright....but pricey.
Then there will be another spot nearby that doesn't look touristy, stop in there.

Edit: Angelo's Coal Oven Pizzeria. Not sure if it's a tourist trap, but the pizza looks pretty ligit, and it's only two blocks south.

Eh, I work in Chicago and I see bikes and people walking food deliveries constantly. Much faster than by car due to the insane traffic and lack of parking spaces. Hell whenever the company orders food, its always by foot cause all the stuff they have to carry.

I have taken this threads advice and gotten both a dirty water sausage from a street cart and amazing pizza from somewhere called Famous Ray's a block between times square and central park. And damn that was amazing food.

The subway was a bit much, but once I got off and started walking around the city I've been having a blast! It very much feels like downtown L.A.
